Hi everybody,
The results show that I was the last Bellville runner to reach the finish line in the West Coast Marathon in a time of 5 hours and 27 minutes.
For this I apologise.
However,
Nobody was a witness to the drama taking place a short distance off-road at a certain place along the route, when a call from nature resulted in a nasty confrontation with a thorn bush, which refused to let go of my flimsy blue shorts, and amounted to about 8 minutes being lost.
Was it only that short?
It seemed a lot longer!
Anyway, these thorns were particularly vicious and spread out along the whole length of the branch. In the end I managed to extricate myself without ripping the article of clothing to shreds, and was much relieved to be able to carry on running!
