Important Info on 2010 Weskus Marathon

Please take note of the following important points regarding the Seeff Weskus Marathon on Saturday 6 March 2010:

Present indications are that many more participants than the record field of last year will take part in this year's event. Present planning for water, Coke, food and busses for 42,2 km runners are based on a 30% increase, which will be finalised after the entry cut-off on 1 March. The organisers wants to assure all participants that there will be adequate water and Coke on the route.

The 42,2 km and 21,1 km races are pre-entry races only, with entries closing on 1 March. Although late entries were taken at registration in Langebaan in the past, please take note the NO late entries will be taken for the 42,2 km. A limited number of late entries will be taken after 1 March for the half marathon, but only until a limit of 1100 entries for the 21,1 km is reached. To avoid dissappointment, you need to enter before or on 1 March.

Online entries can be made at www.entrytime.co.za or entry forms can be down-loaded from www.strandlopers.co.za. Entry forms are also available from Sportsman Warehouse Tyger Valley and Century City.

All races start 30 minutes earlier than in 2009 and marathon athletes must ensure that they arrive before 05:15 to take a bus from the registration / finish area to the starting point inside the West Coast National Park. No cars will be allowed inside the park the morning before or during the race.

This is also just another confirmation that the 42,2 km will be a qualifying race for Two Oceans and Comrades, but only Two Oceans 56 km manual (NO ONLINE) entries will be accepted at the Two Oceans gazebu at the finish venue.
