Kids 4 Kids Charity Relay

The boys of Gray House/Bishops College are about to host their 5th k4k Charity Relay event which has been enthusiastically supported by many corporate, school and family teams in the past. K4k (kids for kids) is part of a social responsibility campaign which encourages Gray House boys to become actively involved in the organisation of a fundraising event which has resulted in more than R200 000 being raised over the years for the benefit of others.

The event starts at Bishops College on Saturday 6 November 2010 at 1pm, where entrants of all ages and levels of fitness are encouraged to participate in either the 4x4km relay race or the 4km fun walk. It provides the ideal chance for school and corporate teams to get active have fun and win great prizes. Spur along with other food and drink stalls will be there on the day offering the required sustenance. .

This year the boys have again elected to support the following two charities:

CASE is an NGO based in Mitchells Plain that seeks to break the cycle of crime and violence in which young people live, by equipping community members to recognise and respond appropriately to both the causes and effects of crime and violence in their communities.

The Chaeli Campaign. Their main objective is to mobilise the minds and bodies of children with disabilities with a key focus area being the importance of inclusion. They have already provided over 130 assistive devices and have implemented therapy programmes where 85 disabled children at Centres for the Disabled (Ocean View, Masiphumelele & Sive Nathi) now receive regular exercise therapy/OT and /or communication facilitation so that they can be more comfortable in their own bodies and communicate more effectively.
