The Western Province Athletics Race Walk Commission invites you to come along and enjoy a morning walk with a difference. Different because you will experience none of the usual hassles and logistical problems such as traffic, parking, security and big crowds, just to mention a few.

5KMS : DEVELOPMENT (UNDER 18) 08:45 FREE
TEMPORARY LICENCE: R15 (5KMS: NO LICENCE REQUIRED)
MEDALS : 1st, 2nd, 3rd MALE AND FEMALE FOR EACH RACE DISTANCE

Come and enjoy a walking experience in a relaxed and quiet environment, without any traffic, peaceful surroundings and complete security, on a smooth tarred, level road surface, reserved for you for the entire morning so that you can enjoy your walk.
Your family could watch you walk from the comfort of your car, should they not wish to take part and walk themselves. Park your car within a few yards from the Start/Finish line under shade offering trees.
Make use of the Water Sachets on offer every time you pass the water table, or bring your family/spouse along to feed you from the refreshment area with whatever you bring along, every time you complete a loop.
Lap Counters, Officials and Judges are looking after you to give you feedback as you progress through your race. All distances are completed on the same circuit with the same finish line. You can pace your own progress against all the other walkers, as you meet every 2 km.
This is real fun and enjoyable.
Note: Rules are few. You must walk, you may not run. One foot must always be on the ground. Legs must be straightened with every step you take and your bare knees must be visible. (Wear suitable shorts, no long trousers that cover the knee). Club members must wear their Club colours.
