The Ladismith Cheese - Kannaland Endurance Walk will take place on 26th & 27th August 2011 at Ladismith Cape, South Africa. You will cover a distance of 75 km over two days or 35km in the one-day event. The start and finish will be at Ladismith Golf Club. Teams entering from DCS and SAPS have a special challenge this year. The details will be sent out to you through the internal communication system. If you have any doubts on this, please feel free to contact Issie van Rensburg. Teams participating in this Challenge must please mark the appropriate block on the entry form. Teams that did not indicate this will not be eligible for prizes in the Challenge.
Participation for the two-day walk will be in team formation (6) to qualify for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. There will be three (3) main categories: male, female and mixed (3 male and 3 female). Teams consisting of fewer members will be allowed, but will not qualify for 1st, 2nd or 3rd position.
Participation is at own risk and every walker must sign an indemnity before participating.

The entry provides for the following:

B. Bronze medal for every person finishing the walk.
Closing date
The closing date for entries is 19 August 2011 Teams withdrawing after the 19th will forfeit their entry fee.
This will be a social event. Time will be taken when the first team member crosses the starting line and stopped when the last member crosses the finishing line.
Teams must be neatly dressed and the same. Teams will be inspected during the walk.
Supporters may not be dressed the same as walkers.
A. The Two-Day walk will commence on 26 & 27 August 2011 at 07:00 sharp at the Ladismith Golf Club.
B. The One-Day walk will commence on 27 August 2011 at the Ladismith Golf Club just before the start of the Two-Day walk.
C. Two Day Walkers must report on 26 August 2011 at 07:00 and ONE-DAY WALK ERS on 27 August 2011 at 06:30.
A. All six-(6) members of a team that start the walk must finish the walk to qualify for a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place.
B. Team members must stay together and are not allowed to walk more than fifty (50) meters from one another.
C. Teams must enter a checkpoint as a group. Officials have the right to delay teams if necessary
D. Teams not entering a checkpoint will be penalized.
E. No walker will be allowed to be transported by any means of transportation during the walk. Walkers may not be replaced with “fresh” walkers.
F. A team number will be issued to each team on 25 August 2011 at the meeting. One member of the team must wear the number on the right leg.
G. Every team is responsible for its own energy drinks, food, etc. during the walk.
H. Teams who are not paid up on 19 August 2011 will not be allowed to participate.
I. If any walker of a team withdraws during the walk, the rest of the team will be allowed to finish, but will not qualify for a 1st, 2nd or 3rd place.
J. Every walker finishing the walk will receive a medal. Walkers withdrawing during the race will not receive a medal.
K. No jogging or running will be allowed.
L. Checkpoints and marshals will be visible and any complaints can be reported to them.
M. Marshals will ensure discipline and compliance with rules on the route.
N. The organizers have the right to disqualify teams that do not obey the rules.
Medical support will be available along the route, but each team is still responsible for their own bandages, plasters and lubricants.
Emergency transport will be available on the route.
Refreshment points will be stationed along the route at approximately every 5km.
