Langebaan Strandlopers, the organiser of the Weskus Marathon wants to bring the following information under your attention:
The name of our title sponsor has changed, but it is still the same organisation.
Due to Easter weekend being very early in April this year, WPA could unfortunately not provide an early enough spot for the Weskus Marathon to be a Two Oceans qualifier.
However, the Weskus Marathon is a great last long run before Two Oceans and in your build-up to Comrades.
Peninsula Beverages (Coke) acquired their own ice making machines and will supply much more ice from this year onwards, as could be experienced with the cold water provided at the Peninsula Marathon.
The problem with the buses at our marathon last year has been resolved. 21 buses are organised to transport 1200 marathon runners to the start.
Marathon runners must take note that the last bus departs at 05:20 from the registration / finish point.
Number, goody bag and T-shirt collection in Cape Town takes place at Sportsman’s Warehouse Tyger Valley from 12:00 to 18:00 on Friday 16 March.
Number, goody bag and T-shirt collection in Langebaan takes place at the NG Church Hall on Friday from 16:00 to 20:00 and on Saturday from 04:15 to 30 Minutes before buses leave or races start.
CLOSING DATE FOR MARATHON AND HALF MARATHON ENTRIES IS 8 MARCH.
5km Fun Run/Walk entries will only be taken at registration in NG Church Hall in Langebaan.
NO LATE ENTRIES FOR MARATHON will be accepted after 8 March.
