As part of our Laingsburg initiative we (the BAKgat club) invited a few (meaning five) Laingsburg AC runners to participate in the BAKgat 10 km on October 3rd.
After the race they will join all our BAKgat-helpers at the clubhouse for a sponsered braai during which you can dispense your running wisdom on these youngsters. Most of their runners are less privileged juniors who have never been anywhere but Laingsburg.
Since the invitation the number of runners have increased dramatically – now on 20+. BAC only provides for five runners and we would like to appeal to our members to consider a donation in one of the following areas:
1) We need bedding and mattresses / camp beds on loan. They will stay in our clubhouse – supervised.
2) If possible we would like to provide for the entry fee for all of their juniors. R20 per runner.
3) We would also like to contribute coffee, milk, rusks and Weetbix to their breakfast.
Thanks to everyone who already contributed and offered to help with the group. As usual Frik will be in charge of the braai!
