Comrades Marathon underprivileged Runners Programme 2018

The Comrades Marathon Association is proud to announce that it will be offering a facility to support the participation of financially disadvantaged runners in the 2018 Comrades Marathon. Comrades Marathon Association is offering the Underprivileged Runners Programme initiative through which disadvantaged runners will be provided with a comfortable mattress and blanket to sleep and food to eat the night before and the night of the Comrades Marathon. Runners will be accommodated at the YMCA in Alan Paton Street behind the Sasol Filling Station.

However, due to the overwhelming demand, runners are urged to apply early, as this offer is being made to all runners throughout South Africa and space is limited! Underprivileged Runners will be receiving sleeping facilities the night before (09 June 2018) and the night of the race (10 June 2017), carbo-meals, energy drinks as well as transportation.

Please note that the initial transportation from your residence to either Durban or Pietermaritzburg and back to your place of residence will be for your own expense.

In order for us to make provisions, we will require that you fill-in and post or fax or email the document which you can download from this page, by no later than the 11 May 2018. Please note: to qualify for the programme you must be unemployed or earn less than R5000 a month. Please send us proof of earnings or an affidavit as proof of your earnings or unemployment.

Once again, we look forward to providing support to the financially disadvantaged runners this year and thank you for your participation in this exciting venture!
