December Captains corner
Dear Bellville RC members
Your club captains,
This will be our final newsletter for 2019 and thus
a combined one.
The silly season is amongst us and November was quite a busy month on
the calendar with loads of races and everyone chasing the new club challenges.
Well done to everyone, keep up the good work and remember, hard work always
pays off 😊. Also well done to all the novices and all the
members who participated in the Winelands half and full marathon. It was amazing
to see such a big group at the race and at our gazebo.
There are a few things to look forward to in December, like our annual Pub
Run on the 5th of December, after which it will be the last braai of
the year. We want to encourage everyone to come along and let’s have a good
time for the last time this year.
The November results of the Captains challenge will also be a bit more
detailed and will be available as soon as the last results of the November
races becomes available, so please be on the lookout for that list.
The ladies run will also have their last official "Christmas"
run on the 8th of December at Big Bay in Blouberg, and we would like
to invite everyone, even the men to join us. All the details will be
communicated very soon. Thank you to all the lovely ladies for some wonderful
runs this year. I hope that 2020 will be a wonderful year for all of us
and that we can continue with this wonderful run.
We would also like to say thank you so much to each member for all your
support, contributions, enthusiasm and team spirit that you have shown in 2019.
We saw some good changes this year and hope to keep building on that in the
year to come. We are truly proud of each and every one.
We have to take this opportunity to also thank all the all the ladies
who attended the ladies Knit-a-Thon on the 15th of November. It
was great fun and we learned a lot. Thank you also to those who contributed and
helped make the event a big success. Hope to do it again soon!
A huge congratulations to everyone that received an award this year, may
you continue to rise and reach new heights.
2019 was a year full of ups and downs, but with amazing adventures and
loads of members achieving their personal goals, breaking their PB's and
overall enjoying running. There are few injuries and people going through
medical treatments and operations, so to those members we want to wish you a
speedy recovery and hope to see you on the road again soon.
2020 will be a year of big change and new beginnings. We are looking
forward to launching our brand-new club and hope that we can continue building
on our traditions and creating an even bigger team spirit and bond between the
members. It was such a joy to have been able to serve and be part of such a
wonderful club with a rich history and we hope that in the coming years we can
experience even greater adventures in the new club.
We would like to wish everyone a wonderful, blessed festive season and
we pray that you will be safe on the roads and that you continue to run and
stay fit for the busy year to come. We also hope that you will have a wonderful
time with your families and enjoy the rest.
To those who have birthdays coming up we would like to wish you a happy birthday
and wish you a blessed new year!
Have a good wonderful time and see you at the last few events of 2019.
