Captain's corner: Men - February 2020

February 2020 Captain's corner: Men

Good day to all the BAK men,

Welcome back to a new decade of running, which has an extra day of running for us. I trust everybody is well rested and geared-up for this year because it’s going to be awesome, I just know that.

We have lots planned and there is something for everyone, from a 10km challenge to extreme challenges. The fires will burn for braais and the legs will ache for runs, so we will build a community of fellowship and fun, hopefully through tears and lots of sweat, and not through blood.

We are looking at an awesome month for running which include the Peninsula marathon, Slave Route Challenge as well as the brand-new Hemel and Aarde marathon, being organized by our good friend Wietse. I therefore hope the dust has been removed from your running shoes and your December boep has decreased exponentially for this month because it’s a big one!

Once again, the club will have your back with a bus for the Peninsula marathon so you can just sit back and enjoy your beer.  And please gentlemen, do keep it at one per person, we are asking you nicely.

I would l to congratulate everyone on their birthday this month, and a belated birthday to our January babies, hope you were spoilt, perhaps with breakfast in bed, and that you feel like you’re 18 again 😊. I just know this year will be full of love, happiness and everyone will enjoy good luck!

Signing off,

Meyer Dalton
